Spillway Traffic Control – Keep general population from driving in and parking past the spillway. Vehicles allowed beyond that point will have parking passes. This task is needed on Saturday, July 3 only.
ID Check/Front Gate – Welcome people, check ID if they want to drink alcohol and put on their wristband. Operate the barricade to let vehicles in that have the proper parking passes. When people are leaving - thank them for attending, and be sure they are not carrying alcohol out past the gate.
Ticket Sellers – Be sure all ticket buyers have the correct wristband, check ID & wristband if necessary. Sell beer and root beer tickets. You have the authority and obligation to refuse service to anyone.
Bartenders – Check for proper wristbands, tap and serve beer, cider and root beer. Tear all tickets completely in half. Watch for underage drinkers and for people buying beer for underage drinkers. Observe for schemes to get beer to underage drinkers. If you feel alcohol is getting to underage persons, let police know and they will handle. You have the authority and obligation to refuse service to anyone. We encourage bartenders to refrain from drinking while bartending. If you do choose to drink while bartending, it needs to be discreet. For those that refrain from drinking, we will provide two drink tickets per volunteer to use after your shift.
Fireworks Donation Stations – We will have 2 or 3 stations set up to collect donations for the fireworks on the evening of July 4th. These stations will be placed at the exits from the park. The task will be to occupy the stations and encourage people to donate to the fireworks fund as they exit the park after the fireworks, and to thank people for attending and donating.
Fireworks Gate Control – On July 4th, put up the barricades at about 8:30 to restrict cars from driving past the warming house. Stay by the barricades until the fireworks show is over, then remove the barricades. Many kids and families are playing in the area just prior to the fireworks, and the cars passing through are a danger.
