Many Winners to Be Crowned at ECP’s SouperHero Cook-Off
If you’ve been wondering how to support the 4th of July Fireworks and taste some great soups, the answer is as easy as 1-2-3. Join the Evansville Community Partnership (ECP) at the First Annual SouperHero Cook-Off on March 18 at Creekside Place in Evansville.
For twenty years The Heat Is On Chili Cook-Off was a tradition in the Spring. The Cook Off is the main fundraiser for the fireworks fund in the city. Now, as we put distractions in our rear-view mirror, the event has reinvented itself. Your best chili is still welcome but all manner of soups will be welcome this year.
Do you make the best bisque? The greatest gumbo? Do you make a marvelous minestrone? There will be room for all of those fine soups and more at this year’s event. Awards will be given in the following categories:
Best Overall
Honorable Mention
Vegetarian
Best Table Theme
People’s Choice and, new this year
World Traveler for the best international entry
Doors will open at 3 pm with more than a dozen soups to taste. Come see the fun as the cooks compete for a cash prize and all-new magnificent Best Bowl Trophy. Every dollar you spend goes straight to making the 4th of July celebration more spectacular.
Adding to the fun this year will be a 50-50 Raffle. Admission tickets to the event are now just $15 for adults. Kids 10 and under enter free with adult. Patrons will enjoy sampling the soups in the contest, mixing and mingling with friends old and new, playing our new, exciting Spoon Raffle for great prizes, and a 50/50 raffle.
Treat yourself to a great night out and help The Evansville Community Partnership get ready for another exciting Fourth of July Festival. Tickets are available at the door for just $15. Be sure to be there to help to light up the sky on Independence Day. The variety of soups will be impressive and the quality is high. You’ll be able to taste the best that Evansville and the area’s best cooks have to offer.
There’s still time to volunteer to help the night of the event and entries can be found on the ECP website. Find SouperHero CookOff On Facebook or at ecp-wi.org. For more info please contact Jim Brooks, ECP Executive Director, via phone at 608/239-0587 or by e-mail at [email protected].
