I&E Club Meets December 9
Two new local entrepreneurs are the featured speakers at the next meeting of the Evansville Area Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club! The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Creekside Place, 102 Maple St., Evansville.
The topic addresses what it takes to be a new entrepreneur running a business from an historic home and operating a shop on Main Street. Holin Kennen is the proprietor of Dancing Lamb, a unique shop featuring yarns, spinning wheels, other products and classes. The shop is operated out of the main floor of her home in Evansville’s historic district. Abby Barnes is the proprietor of Vintage Roost—featuring shabby chic and funky home items--and Vintage Workshop, a place used for classes and pop-up shops. The shops are side by side on Main Street in downtown Evansville.
Refreshments for this meeting are sponsored by Shannon Law Office. Whether the issue involves estate planning or family law, or if there may be a financial or business matter, the philosophy practiced at Shannon Law is to listen and provide services, information, education and options that are appropriate to the individual’s needs. More information is available at www.Shannon-Law.com.
The I&E Club meetings are free and everyone is welcome to attend. A Letter From Leadership
Dear I&E Colleagues:
This is not your usual announcement; nor is this a request for money. This is, however, an urgent request for you to invest more of your time in the Evansville Area I&E Club.
We charge no dues and rely on volunteers to keep the club alive and thriving. It takes time to plan and coordinate each meeting. It takes time and effort to raise funds. Right now, there are just two individuals continuing to do this work, for a club that consists of 40 members who attend meetings, and an email list of 200-plus members.
Please give back to the I&E Club by becoming involved. We're flexible (i.e. inventive) and can fit opportunities around you. Choose any number of these options or create your own:
* I will write news releases for two months (or choose another number).
* I will find a sponsor for two meetings at $25 per meeting (or choose another number).
* I will make refreshments for one meeting.
* I have a personal connection to suggest as a speaker and can make introductions between you.
* I will come early to three meetings to help set up and stay late to help tear down.
* I will help shepherd the new "book review / library."
* I would like to be the vice president of sponsorships for the year.
* I would like to be the vice president of refreshments for the year.
* I would like to be the vice president of speakers / programs this year.
* I would like to be the Lunker Lob captain this year (with Sue as first mate).
* I would like to help get the business contest going for fall.
* I would like to ______________ (fill in the blank).
* I would like to be the _________________(name your own title and responsibility here).
This is a great club. Even better, it's a great opportunity to make a difference. Please support this club. Reply to this email or call with your commitment and suggestions. We'll be glad and grateful to hear from you.
